Electrical Installer - Preston
We Build Recruitment are now looking to recruit for an Installation Electrician on behalf of our client, a leading and fast growing North West based provider of parking solutions nationwide. The candidate will need to be within commutable distance of their Preston operations hub. Key responsibilities:- Travel and work away from home up to four nights per week to complete electrical installations
- Carry out electrical installations on ANPR systems in line with customer specification and contractual requirements
- Preventative, periodic and reactive maintenance on existing electrics across our car park estate
- Problem solving, problem detection and repairing system faults using a logical approach
- Carry out testing on ANPR equipment
- Responsible for ensuring safe working practices and always adhering to Health & Safety regulations and expectations when carrying out any work
- Liaising with clients/customers and other on-site trades regarding our works to obtain relevant information required for the task
- Using a laptop or phone to send and receive emails, edit Microsoft Word documents, use Microsoft Teams when required and complete online training courses.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience within a comparable role after completion of electrical apprenticeship
- 18th Edition Electrical Certificate
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical installation/Electrotechnical technology.
- Competent in all aspects of electrical installation, maintenance and fault finding.
- Experience working with a range of containment systems and working with SWA.
- Experience of working in line with Electricity at Work Regulations and IEE Wiring Regulations.
- A valid driving licence and the ability to drive a company van and comply with the requirements of the company insurers
- Commercial/Industrial experience.
- Understanding of single/three phase electrical supplies, and control equipment such as contactors
- Experience of testing and inspection
- Competent in working at height and using different ladder and access platforms.
- ECS gold card
- Inspection and testing
- A working knowledge of IP addresses and configuration of networking hardware
- Experience in data networking/CAT 5 & 6
- Safe Working at Height
- CSCS Card
- 18th Edition Electrical Certificate
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation/Electrotechnical technology
- Basic salary of £37,500 plus guaranteed overnight premium of £5,000 (£42,500)
- Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week

Groundworker - Preston
We Build Recruitment are now looking to recruit for a permanent Groundworker on behalf of our client, a leading and fast growing North West based provider of parking solutions nationwide. The candidate will need to be within commutable distance of their Preston operations hub. Key responsibilities:- Travel and work away from home up to four nights per week to carry out work
- Excavation works and installing service trenching, bollards, columns and signposts as required within roadways, footpaths and verges
- Operation of small highways maintenance plant and equipment
- Carry out ground surveys to locate underground services using cable avoidance tools
- General groundworks activities including the laying and levelling of kerbs, paving slabs, tarmac and concrete
- Responsible for ensuring safe working practices and always adhering to Health & Safety regulations in relation to carrying out work.
- Communicating with our client when on site, keeping them updated on works being carried out, including talking them through changes if any are necessary
- Using a laptop or phone to send and receive emails, edit Microsoft Word documents, use Microsoft Teams when required and complete online training courses
- Fully competent in all aspects of groundworks
- Minimum of 10 years groundwork experience
- NRSWA Qualification (Streetworks)
- CPCS/NPORS 360 Excavator (below 10 tonne)
- A valid driving licence with the ability to drive a company van and comply with the requirements of company insurers
- Experience installing service trenching, bollards, columns and signposts as required within roadways, footpaths and verges plus repairing and resurfacing.
- Demonstrate that you can operate small highways maintenance plant and equipment.
- Previous experience carrying out groundwork surveys to locate underground services using cable avoidance tools.
- Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety regulations and how they should be applied to ensure safe working at all times.
- Valid CSCS card
- Asbestos Awareness UKATA Awarded
- Valid Abrasive Wheels certificate
- Valid Manual Handling certificate

Electrical Project Manager – Renewables - London
We Build Recruitment are now looking to hire a Project Manager with experience in leading large scale Electrical and Renewable projects on behalf of our client, a fast growing presence in the renewables sector. This role is based out of London with projects based across the UK. The role As a Project Manager, your primary responsibility will be the implementation and delivery of large-scale electrical/renewable projects. Your role will involve ensuring that milestones and key deliverables are achieved throughout a project’s life cycle, and to be completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards, reporting into the Construction Director. Responsibilities and duties- Lead all electrical/renewable projects from contract award through to client handover
- Develop project programmes, monitor progress and report to client, Directors and the Management Team
- Set up contracts with the supply chain, negotiate terms and brief the Construction Director
- Ensure PV installations are completed by sub-contractors within the programme schedule and budgets as per contract
- Confident delivery of briefing and coordinating activities on contracts
- Ensure compliance of quality and safety of works at all times
- Effective management of multiple sites and respective Site Managers
- Continuously monitor and maintain excellent levels of H&S and quality on site
- Create & review RAMS, CPP’s and other H&S documents
- Full responsibility for the daily operations of the project delivery team
- Accurate and regular reporting of project performance
- Attend and report on meetings throughout the project(s)
- Procure subcontract labour, materials and ancillary items
- At project completion provide a detailed review of performance against budget, identifying areas for improvement
- Site surveys and inspections to be undertaken as required
- Flexible travel to and from sites across UK is required
- Minimum 5 years construction project management
- 18th Edition Electrical Regulations Qualification would be advantageous
- NVQ or City & Guilds in electrical installation would be advantageous
- Ability to read and understand electrical designs from specifications and surveys
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification
- Must understand site H&S requirements and demonstrate understanding of current legislation & regulations
- Experience in groundworks would be advantageous
- Central Inverter and HV experience would be advantageous
- ECS card or CSCS
- Excellent organisation, communication and written skills are essential
- Qualified 5-day first aider
- Driving Licence
