Electrician Job – Blackburn, Lancashire

Salary: £35,000-£40,000

We Build Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Electrician to carry out high-quality electrical installation, maintenance, and testing works across commercial, retail, and industrial projects. The role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary building services team to deliver safe, compliant, and efficient electrical solutions on client sites.

Key Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in line with current regulations and project specifications
Carry out electrical installations, including containment, wiring, lighting, power distribution, and control systems
Perform fault finding, diagnostics, and rectification of electrical issues
Conduct inspection and testing (including EICR where required) and complete associated certification
Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
Ensure all works comply with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and health & safety standards
Work collaboratively with other trades and project stakeholders to meet deadlines
Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
Represent the company professionally on client sites, ensuring high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems within commercial and industrial environments
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills
Good communication and teamwork abilities
Strong understanding of health & safety practices
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Flexibility to travel and work away from home when required

Qualifications & Experience

Essential:

NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
ECS/CSCS Card
Proven experience in commercial or industrial electrical installations
Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

Inspection & Testing qualification (2391 or equivalent)
Experience in retail, infrastructure, or high-security environments
IPAF, PASMA, or other relevant site certifications
