This role involves working under the guidance of a licensed electrician to contribute to the safe and efficient operation of electrical infrastructure.
– In Electrician Mate Jobs you will assist electricians in installing electrical systems, wiring, and components based on project specifications.
– Handle and pass tools, equipment, and materials to electricians as needed.
– Prepare materials for installation, including cutting and stripping wires, organising tools, and ensuring the availability of necessary supplies.
– Assist in the layout and positioning of electrical components.
– An Electrician’s Mate will assist in pulling and securing electrical cables through conduits and pathways.
– Ensure proper organisation and bundling of cables for neat and efficient installations.
– Assist in the installation of lighting fixtures, switches, outlets, and other electrical devices.
– Securely position and connect wiring to ensure proper functionality.
– Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working with electrical systems.
– Utilise personal protective equipment and follow established safety procedures.
– Maintain and organise electrical tools, keeping them in good working condition.
– Report any damaged or malfunctioning tools to the supervising electrician.
– Learn to interpret construction drawings and electrical schematics under the guidance of the electrician.
– Collaborate with the electrician to understand the layout and specifications for electrical installations.
– Handle and transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from the work site.
– Organise and store materials in a systematic manner.
– Maintain awareness of potential safety hazards and report any concerns to the supervising electrician.
– Participate in safety briefings and training sessions as required.
– Assist in maintaining accurate records of electrical installations, material usage, and any incidents or deviations from project plans.
– Complete relevant paperwork and documentation as required.
– Entry-level position; no prior professional experience required, but a willingness to learn and develop skills in the electrical trade is essential.
